Yes, I was confused too. On the Rocks? On the plate? What? Why? The menu for this also pretty simple. 3 meats or 5 meats. Served with soup or salad and dessert. For 3 meats, you get duck, chicken and prawns, while the 5 meat version has tenderloin and lamb in addition. As I found out much later, the meats are unlimited!
Oh, one drink is included and the smoky pineapple strawberry mock-tail ticks all the boxes from get go. There is a lot of functional theatrics. Not simply to make you inhale some nitrogen, but to actually get something done to the drink. Smoky. For me a smoky drink was a first as I don't remember ever having such a drink. It was smoky right down to the last sip. Full bodied smoke in a drink. Wah.
We got a baked camembert cheese. Its tiny, but it is not brie passed off as camembert (yes, it has happened before in a different place), in a nicely glazed honey garlic reduction. It takes away the slight unpleasantness that camembert has, without entirely making it taste like brie, so a nice balance there.
And then the meats hit you. The plates come first with the veggies. A chef then arrives with a skewer. The first skewer at our table were the 3 meats - duck, chicken and prawn. Not big fan of the Indian ducks, I didn't expect to like the smoked duck, but it was fabulous. With a choice of three sauces and two dips, don't go overboard, just stick to the chef's recommendations on what sauce and what dip for the meats and you won't go wrong.
The next skewer carried the remaining two - the tenderloin and the lamb. Done medium by default unless you ask for it any other way, they don't need the sauces. And then they popped the question, "Can we repeat anything?" followed by, "you can have as many helpings as you want." Wow. Yes, it is expensive at Rs 3450 for 5 meats (and Rs. 2950 for 3 meats), but unlimited premium meats? That is a first! Yes, with second helping of everything, I went crazy with the sauces, but when I go again, I would stick to the recommendations. Goodbye, diet!
Dessert was rather blah!
I know its sounds like a contradiction, but if you're looking for an expensive meat based value for money dinner, this is hard to beat. Considering that the prawns are jumbo and the lamb is Australian!
